No. Board members receive no compensation of any kind.

What are the criteria for grant approval?

A.

The Palmer Center Foundation Board of Directors meets at least bimonthly and considers all grant proposals that meet the requirements and intent of our mission statement. Typically, several grants are awarded each year. If you submit a proposal, the Board of Directors will make every effort to consider it at the next scheduled meeting and to notify applicants of the result immediately after the decision is made.

How do I apply for a grant?

Click here for a scholarship or grant application and follow the directions for submission. Grants may be submitted at any time. However, the Palmer Center Foundation Board reviews and awards grants twice a year — in May and November.

What types of grants does the Foundation award?

A.

The foundation awards scholarships and grants. Scholarships may be awarded to post-baccalaureate students or declared education majors who are over the age of 21 and are seriously seeking teacher certification in special education. Grants may be awarded to individuals with disabilities or to organizations that serve individuals with disabilities.

The Palmer Center Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that exists for the sole purpose of assisting persons with disabilities in East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia to improve their quality of life.
